Happy Release Day to The Dandelion's Tale!

The Dandelion's Tale by Kevin Sheehan is a beautiful picture book from Random House that releases today!

Here's the official blurb:

In this poignant story about the friendship between a dandelion and a sparrow, young readers are given a reassuring, yet emotionally powerful introduction to the natural cycle of life. One fine summer day, when Sparrow meets a dandelion with only 10 seed pods left, he asks how he can help. Dandelion laments that a short while ago, she was the brightest yellow, but now a strong wind could blow away her remaining pods and no one will remember her. Together, they decide to write Dandelion's story in the dirt, and so Dandelion tells Sparrow all the things she has seen and loved. Later that night, a storm changes everything. . . . But the tale of Dandelion lives on.
I found my own dandelion after reading this!

So why am I so excited about this book?

Well, I fell in love with this story the first time I read it and had watery eyes by the end (which doesn't happen often or easily for me). I immediately read it a second time and still found it just as wonderful as the first round.

It's a heart-filled tale of love, loss, and how our stories live on for generations to come. Having read this story, I think of this tale anytime I see a dandelion now.

This is such a lovely debut from Kevin Sheehan (with FABULOUS artwork by Rob Dunlavey!), and I can't wait to see what he writes next.
